What we collect
We collect only the data needed to run the service: account details (name, email, phone number where needed), the student information you enter to help the teacher give a suitable session (age, memorization level and what has been completed, and any note you write for the teacher), and general usage data such as bookings and session times. We do not collect sensitive data unrelated to the service.
How we use data
We use data to run your account, connect you with the right teacher for you or your child, run the live video sessions, produce progress reports, improve the platform, and answer support requests. Usage analytics are aggregated and de-identified as far as possible.
AI processing
Some features rely on external AI service providers. When you use “Smart Tasmee”, your recitation audio recording is sent to an AI provider (such as Groq) to be transcribed into text that is compared with the verses, and the result is shown to you. When you request a translation of text you select on the platform (other than verses and hadiths, whose translations are fetched from published sources), that text is sent to an AI provider (such as Google Gemini, Groq or OpenAI) to prepare the translation. The provider processes what it receives under its own terms. Both features are optional, and nothing is sent unless you use them yourself.
Analytics and cookies
We measure platform usage to improve it: we record page visits with an anonymous visitor ID, and the source of the visit (such as ad campaign links). We also use Google Analytics and Meta Pixel (Facebook), which place cookies in your browser and send Google and Meta data about the pages you visit and about your device and browser, to measure traffic and ad performance. You can block this from your browser settings or with tracking-blocking tools, and it won't affect your use of the platform.
Live video sessions
The session takes place between you or your child and the teacher over a live video call in which the student's voice and picture are shown only to the booked teacher. The session may be recorded so the account owner can review it later; the recording is available inside the account to both parties and is never published outside the platform. Camera and microphone permission is requested in the browser only during the session, and you can decline it or end the call at any time.
Storing and protecting data
Data is held on secure servers and the connection to the platform is encrypted. We apply internal access controls and review security regularly. No digital system is entirely free of risk, but we hold ourselves to reasonable standards in protecting your data.
Your rights
At any time you can ask to see your data, correct it, or delete the account entirely including session recordings. To get in touch about any request of this kind, write to m.sawah1990@gmail.com and we will reply within five working days.
Children's data
A child's data is tied to the parent's account and cannot be accessed independently, and the child appears in the session only in front of the booked teacher. We recommend entering the minimum personal information necessary, and we avoid collecting any information the service doesn't actually need.
