Truthfulness

Tell the truth even when it is hard. Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise — and the one who keeps telling the truth is recorded with Allah as truthful.

The evidence

«إِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ، وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَصْدُقُ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ صِدِّيقًا»

Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man keeps telling the truth until he is recorded with Allah as truthful.

Sahih al-Bukhari 6094

For parents and teachers

Character is taught by example before words — a child copies what they see, not what they are told.
Take one lesson a week and practise it, rather than reading all eight at once.
Meet mistakes with calm correction — the Prophet ﷺ corrected the boy at the table with one gentle sentence.
